I was playing on a $10 minimum mini-baccarat table.  I was making $50 bets and another player two spots down was making minimum bets.  Now, it is not unusual to see someone making $10 bets.  However, what got my attention was that he never varied the size of his bets but appeared to be winning

I started talking to him and asked him what he was doing.  He told me he was playing the rhythms.  I introduced myself and asked if I could buy him dinner a little later.  I told him that I had been playing baccarat for over twenty years and I had never seen anyone play like him

He smiled back and said, “Sure, why not.”

Thirty minutes later we had a couple of sirloin steaks, and I was taking notes as my dinner companion –Ted was his name – explained his system.

By the time dessert arrived I had it down.  But I had to finish with one last question.  “Why don’t you ever vary the size of your bets?  You could increase bets during a winning streak or make other size adjustments to improve your win rate.”

How I Developed the Five-Count Approach
